Only 2 Nokia secret codes matter on a phone sold today: *#06# shows the IMEI, and *#7370# restores factory settings after you enter the security code, which is pre-set to 12345. Both come from HMD’s own user guides for the Nokia 105, 3310 and their siblings, and the network codes that check call forwarding and call waiting are defined by the GSM standard, so they work on any Nokia, keypad or Android.
Everything else in the usual Nokia code list dates from the Symbian and Series 40 phones of the 2000s. This page separates the codes HMD documents in 2026 from that legacy set, and it drops the ones that never had a source, including the “master code” and carrier-unlock tricks that the 2019 version of this article repeated.
Nokia Codes List That Works in 2026
Dial each code on the home screen exactly as written, including the star and hash keys. The first 2 rows are documented by HMD, the maker of current Nokia phones. The rest are GSM supplementary-service codes from ETSI TS 122 030, the standard every phone follows for star-and-hash commands, so your network answers them rather than the phone.
Code | What it does | Works on | Documented by |
|---|---|---|---|
*#06# | Shows the IMEI, with or without a SIM | Every phone | ETSI TS 122 030 section 6.7; HMD guides |
*#7370# | Restores factory settings and erases all data; asks for the security code | Nokia keypad phones (105, 106, 110, 150, 3310) | HMD user guides |
12345 | Pre-set security code (not a dial code) | Nokia keypad phones | HMD user guides |
*#21# | Shows whether all calls are forwarded, and where | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, service code 21 |
*#67# | Forwarding when busy | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 67 |
*#61# | Forwarding on no reply | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 61 |
*#62# | Forwarding when unreachable | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 62 |
*#002# | Status of all forwarding at once | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 002 |
*#43# | Call waiting status | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 43 |
*#30# | Whether your phone shows callers’ numbers (CLIP) | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 30 |
*#31# | Whether your number is hidden from people you call (CLIR) | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 31 |
*#33# | Whether outgoing calls are barred | Every GSM phone | ETSI Annex B, code 33 |

Nokia 105 Codes List
The Nokia 105 is the phone most people are holding when they search for Nokia codes, and the Nokia reset codes come down to one. HMD’s user guides for it, along with the Nokia 106, 110, 150 and 3310, document the same short list. Type these on the home screen:
*#06# IMEI (write it down; you need it for warranty and theft reports)
*#7370# Restore factory settings (asks for the security code, erases everything)
12345 Pre-set security code, until you change itThe Nokia 105 user guide gives the reset two ways: dial *#7370# and enter the security code when asked, or go to Menu, Settings, Restore factory settings. The 2017 model’s guide adds a warning worth repeating: after you select OK there is no further confirmation. The phone resets and all data is removed. Back up contacts to the SIM first.
Nothing else in the old Nokia 105 secret codes lists is documented by HMD. Codes for Bluetooth addresses, software versions and “secret menus” belong to the Symbian era covered further down, and a 105 has no Bluetooth to report.
Nokia Security Code: Default, Change It, and What If You Forget It
Searches for a “Nokia security code list” are looking for one number: 12345. HMD’s Nokia 3310 3G guide states that if there is a pre-set code, it is 12345, and tells you to change it under Menu, Settings, Security. Then it adds the sentence that matters: once you change the code, you need to remember the new one, because HMD is not able to open or bypass it.
That closes the door on the “master code” sites. There is no Nokia master code, no 8-digit unlock code generated from your IMEI, and no dial string that reveals a changed security code. HMD’s forgotten lock code page says a locked phone will require service, that charges may apply, and that personal data may be deleted in the process. *#7370# is not a way around it either, since the reset itself asks for the code.
- Try 12345 first. Most forgotten codes were never changed.
- Try the codes you reuse elsewhere, such as a birth year or an old PIN.
- If neither works, take the phone and proof of purchase to a Nokia care point. Expect a fee and a wiped phone.
- Skip any site or app that promises a security code from your IMEI. It cannot, and the ones that charge for the attempt know that.
Nokia Android Phones: Which Codes Work
On a Nokia Android phone, *#06# works exactly as on the keypad models, and HMD’s access codes page for the Nokia C1 also lists Settings, About phone, Status, IMEI information as the menu route. The network codes in the table above work in the dialer. The keypad reset code does not: Android phones reset from the Settings app, and a forgotten lock is handled through the Google account that HMD’s guide points to for finding, locking or erasing the phone remotely.
PIN and PUK codes are a separate layer. HMD’s guide describes the PIN as 4 to 8 digits protecting the SIM, and the PUK as the code that unblocks a locked PIN, supplied by your network operator rather than by Nokia. No dial code recovers either one.
Legacy Nokia Secret Codes From the Symbian Era
These are the secret codes for Nokia phones, the Nokia secret codes and tricks that every list has copied since the Nokia N-series and Series 40 days. They were real on those phones, most of them sold before 2012. They are not documented by HMD for any current model, we have not re-tested them on 2026 hardware, and several do nothing on a keypad phone that lacks the feature they query. Treat the table as history, not instructions.
Code | What it did | Phones |
|---|---|---|
*#0000# | Showed the software version, release date and model | Series 40 and Symbian S60 |
*#7780# | Soft reset: restored settings, kept contacts and files | Symbian S60 |
*#7370# | Full reset, same as today’s keypad phones | Symbian S60 |
*#92702689# | Warranty menu: serial number, manufacture date, life timer | Series 40 and older |
*#2820# | Bluetooth device address | Symbian S60 |
*#62209526# | Wi-Fi MAC address | Symbian S60 with Wi-Fi |
*#7370925538# | Reset the Wallet application and its data | Symbian S60 with Wallet |
Source: widely circulated Nokia Symbian S60 and Series 40 code lists, not re-verified by TechLila on current hardware; HMD user guides document none of these codes.
Codes We Removed, and Why
The 2019 version of this page carried about 40 more entries. They are gone for one of three reasons.
- Carrier-unlock and “service provider” tricks. Removing a network lock without the operator’s consent usually breaks the terms you signed, and the keypad sequence we listed never worked on anything newer than the 2000s.
- Codec codes such as *3370#, #3370#, *4720# and #4720#. They toggled 2G voice codecs on early phones. No HMD guide mentions them, and the battery and signal claims attached to them were never measured.
- Party tricks. Setting a closed user group to make the phone beep near speed cameras or trip shop alarms was folklore in 2005 and is folklore now.
Nokia Secret Codes FAQ
What is *#0000# on a Nokia phone?
On Symbian and Series 40 phones it displayed the software version, its date and the model name. HMD’s guides for current keypad phones do not document it; if it does nothing on yours, look for the software version in the Settings menu instead.
What is *#2640# on a Nokia?
Old lists claim it displays the security code in use. No Nokia or HMD document has ever described such a code, and HMD states it cannot itself recover a changed security code, so treat *#2640# as a myth. Dialing it is harmless; expecting a code from it is not.
Is there a Nokia master code or unlock code list?
No. The only pre-set code is 12345, and HMD says it cannot open or bypass a code you changed. Lists of “Nokia unlock codes” are either that one number repeated or a sales page for a service that cannot deliver.
How do I reset a Nokia 105 if I forgot the security code?
You cannot do it from the keypad, because *#7370# and the Restore factory settings menu both ask for the code. HMD’s guidance is a care point, with possible charges and data loss.
I forgot my Nokia 3310 security code. What now?
Try 12345, then any code you reuse elsewhere. There are no Nokia 3310 secret codes that reveal it. The 3310 3G guide is explicit that HMD cannot open or bypass the code, so the next step is a Nokia care point with proof of purchase.
Do the call forwarding codes work on Nokia?
Yes, on every Nokia with a SIM. The forwarding codes 21, 61, 62 and 67 and the call-waiting code 43 are handled by the network under the GSM standard rather than by the phone, so the handset brand makes no difference. If your operator has disabled a service, the phone reports that instead.
Do Nokia Secret Codes Still Matter?
Just 2 of them do. *#06# is the fastest way to record an IMEI before a phone is lost, and *#7370# with the security code is the fastest way to wipe a keypad Nokia before selling it. The network codes are useful the day a call goes missing and you want to know whether forwarding is on. Everything else on the classic lists either belongs to phones nobody buys new or was never true.
The decision that outranks any code is the security code itself: change it from 12345 so a stranger cannot wipe or use your phone, and store the new one somewhere other than the phone, because HMD has said plainly that it cannot get you back in. If you also own a Samsung, its Samsung secret codes follow the same split between real Android menus and folklore.

Hello, can you help me with a code to reset my E72 Nokia phone? I changed the security code and cannot remember it. IMEI 351513040767797.
Mahesh Dabade
You can do a factory reset through the following:
Turn off the phone
Hold the buttons ‘3’ + ‘*’ + ‘Answer Button’ down at the same time.
Start the phone while holding these 3 buttons still de-pressed.
When the Nokia tune and logo shows you can let go of the 3 buttons
If you need to reset the code for other reasons you need to take it to a Nokia Care point.
