Linux crashes rarely because as Linux is open source if any bugs, loophole is there programmers fixed them immediately.

I use Zorin (ubuntu based OS) in my home, it works well. I used to browse internet in it. But..
I tried to install a new software in zorin, in windows it is quite easy. just run install/setup file no need of internet, but zorin the internet is required otherwise as a base user you cant install.
I dont think that latest versions of Ubuntu works on old 486 PCs some years back I do have one and I ordered a ShipitUbuntu CD I got the CD and tried to install but it does not works. Later I learned that there is another version that works on older PCs that time I have replaced and purchased new one.

Why does Ubuntu not work like any others? I don’t get to understand it. When beginners use Ubuntu, many Softwares are not default installed like any others, so I do not use it. If any simple way is to use it, please suggest me.
